Mr. Luke Shafnisky
Principal
Mr. Shafnisky graduated from Muhlenberg College with a major in biology and completed his teacher certification at Moravian College. He earned master's degrees from Wilkes University and Lehigh University. Both of his parents worked for Northampton Area School District, and this is his fifth year as Principal of NAHS.
His hobbies include hiking and the outdoors, traveling, reading, and spending time with his wife and rescue dog.
Mr. Randy Burger
Assistant Principal Last names: A-Fn; Ss-Z
Mr. Burger is excited to return to his alma mater and welcomes the opportunity
to be an assistant principal at Northampton Area High School. After graduating
from NASD, Mr. Burger attended Lock Haven University, where he earned a B.A.
in Sociology. He then continued his education and attended East Stroudsburg
University and earned his M.Ed. In Special Education, his M.Ed. in School
Administration, as well as his principal certification.
Prior to coming to Northampton Area High School, Mr. Burger has been an
emotional support teacher, behavior specialist and assistant principal in his
educational career. Mr. Burger’s experience as an assistant principal has been at
Whitehall High School and in Florida.
Mr. Burger enjoys going on cruises, working out at the gym, watching crime
shows on TV and spending time with his wife and grandson.
Mrs. Stefani Fink
Assistant Principal Last names: Md-Sr
Mrs. Fink is extremely excited to continue her career at her Alma Mater, Northampton Area High School. After graduating from NASD, she continued her education at West Chester University where she obtained her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education. Once an established teacher for Northampton, she continued her education at Wilkes University. She received her Masters in Reading, as well as a second Masters in Effective Teaching. She later received her principal certification from Delaware Valley University. Prior to coming to the High School, she was a district teacher at George Wolf Elementary.
When not at school, you can find Mrs. Fink with her family. Whether this is four wheeling in the woods, or traveling around the valley for cheering competitions and softball games, you will find her with her daughter and husband.
Mr. Jonathan Ortwein
Assistant Principal Last names: Fo-Mc
Mr. Ortwein grew up in Bethlehem. He received his bachelor’s degree from Millersville University, where he also played baseball. He later earned his masters degree in Administration from Wilkes University. Prior to coming to Northampton High School, he was a teacher and Dean of Students at Nitschmann Middle School. He loves spending time with his wife and 3 children, he enjoys playing golf and being outside, and is an avid sports fan.
